So lets get on with making this recipe and let it come into your kitchens! Oh and the best things before you scroll down, it's homemade not a cake mix! I think that calls for a German Chocolate Coconut Bar celebration, as these are oh so good!
Bars instead of Cake!
These German Chocolate Coconut Bars are just like the cake but easier.
They stay moist and so delicious.
Even though they are bars and not cake, they are easier to eat and store too.
Easy To Make
These are so quick and easy to make and all homemade from scratch, no mixes here.
They kind of remind of me the 7 layer cookie bars but decadently delicious with German chocolate toppings.
I have always used Bakers Chocolate for my homemade recipes, it's the best.
The Filling
The filling is bursting with flavors and perfect for any coconut lover or German Chocolate Cake lover!
The Chocolate adds the perfect sweetness to these bars.
Feel free to use pecans, macadamia nuts or even pistachios.
Of course pecans are the nut of choice, but you can alter your recipe however you like it!

Change it up!
You can change these up by using dried cherries instead of nuts or making the topping with white or dark chocolate.
This is a delicious way to make other kinds of bars using fruits instead of nuts and use white or dark chocolate instead of German Chocolate.
These Best German Chocolate Coconut Bars are a pretty versatile recipe that can be changed and altered for those who have nut allergies or aren't fond of German Chocolate Cake.
When I think of German Chocolate Cake
The cake always looks so messy doesn't it and it really is?
These German Chocolate Coconut Bars aren't messy and made from scratch, no cake mix.
The nuts and coconut seems to stick together better baked, than the frosted cake.
These taste just like the cake but really not messy at all in comparison.
I love this buttery crust, delicious filling and topping.
Let me know what you think.
