Mom always made a cookie from the basic ingredients in the house and this was one of them.
We always had flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon, eggs, and butter.
This was a favorite cookie then and now.
This is simple to make.
I start with 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, (added to a ziplock bag or place on a paper plate) and stir or shake to blend it evenly.
I love cinnamon if you want less, start out with 1 teaspoon and season to taste with this spice.
Roll the dough into 1 inch balls then evenly cover the cookie balls.
Place on either a parchment-lined cookie sheet or lightly oil sprayed.
As I said before, if you melt the butter, the dough will be a gooey and hard to roll.
Leave it at room temperature, your dough will be perfect.
