Homemade Cavatelli and Broccoli Recipe
Here's a light or hardy pasta which ever way you prefer. Add the meat last or leave it vegetarian style. Either way you will have a tasty dish of Italian homemade pasta that everyone will enjoy. No time to make them homemade? 1 lb of homemade cavatelli
1 lb fresh broccoli cooked to your liking drained
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
red pepper flakes optional
1/4 cup or more grating cheese
optional: fried sausage sliced and drained
Cook homemade cavatelli pasta to your liking, we like al dente. Drain and reserve 3 cups liquid. Set aside. Cook broccoli to your taste set aside.
In a large sauce pan, brown garlic to a light color 1 minute with the oil and pepper. Add cooked broccoli to coat with garlic flavored oil then add the cooked pasta with the liquid. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes and top with grating cheese. Garnish with sausage.
