Reindeer Peanut Butter Cookies
I love making these great baking memories with my kids and now grandkids! Mom's peanut butter cookie recipe is perfect for making these cute little reindeer cookies. This is such a fun cookie for Christmas and the perfect project for all ages. The best part is eating them!
Growing up I remember mom going to the Crisco can and finding her favorite peanut butter cookie recipe printed on the can. It was her go-to recipe and is more than 50 years old and I still have this one written on an index card in her handwriting. She's been gone now since 1999 to the angels. Thanks, mom, still love this one and miss us making them together.
Now I get to make cookies with my precious grandson Antonio, Talia and soon Isabella.
My grandson Antonio is 4 years old and added the nose, ears, and eyes to these.
This is a great project for the kids making memories and he had such a good time, my heart just melted.
I am over the moon that he is learning to be a little sous chef!
Honestly, besides the peanut butter cookies were crunchy and over the top delicious, they're so easy to form into these adorable reindeer.
Antonio was so articulate on adding the mini chocolate chips for eyes, the cinnamon hots for the nose an then we found that there are mini pretzels out there to do the ears!
He kept getting so excited as he saw his creation come to life in the form of a reindeer.
I can't begin to tell you what a proud grandma I was watching him!
The dough molds perfectly and you can use your imagination to decorate however you like.
We bought the candies, pretzels and mini chocolate chips all at the grocery store.
He really did a fantastic first-time job and only 4 years old!
Now with all the festive ideas out there, there seemed to be the perfect way to keep mom's memory alive with the next generation of little cooks!
During the difficult times of the year, which is Christmas, these memories in the kitchen with little ones is the best ever!
Here is the recipe dough making Reindeer Peanut Butter Cookies and a festive treat! It isn't Christmas without them!
Besides making sugar cookie cutouts, these are my favorite and the kids love them.
The cookie is outstanding in taste and look how cute my reindeer are!
They are easily shaped because this dough is so workable.
It really was a joy making these and hearing everyone say how creative they were.
Don't you just love easy cookies!
I used mini chocolate chips, red hots and then mini pretzels for the ears.
Most of the time I have seen the recipe has used frosting to adhere, mine stayed on great so I didn't use it.
But if you want to make sure, make a paste with powdered sugar and water to keep everything glued together.
This was mom's go-to recipe for peanut butter cookies.
If you love those flavored cookies, you can make this recipe all year long.
Just roll into balls, flatten slightly and shape the face oblong style.
I love Christmas, it's all about making magic.
These cookies certainly did that with my little guy, Antonio.
My mom sprinkled them with cinnamon and sugar mixture on top, they were so so delicious.
Bake the same as directed.
These are the perfect cookie to make the little ones learn traditions for Christmas.
These peanut butter cookies are a great dough to mold and they are very easy to shape.
They are a crisp and crunchy buttery cookie and just a perfect addition to any cookie tray.
Get Creative!
You can decorate these with anything you like.
You can use just frosting and make the eyes and nose.
We like the idea of the antlers with using the pretzels.
