Old Fashioned Apple Crisp Recipe
A favorite comfort food for the fall, top it with a little whipped cream and a dab of hot fudge... the best apple crisp! |
5 -6 mcintosh peeled, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons lightly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter melted
3/4 cup flour plus
2 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
7 tablespoons sugar
7 tablespoons lightly packed brown sugar
12 tablespoons butter cut in small pieces
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Put apples, sugars, and cinnamon in a buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Mix together and let sit 20 minutes to let the juices come out of the apples.
Pour melted butter over the apples.
Mix remaining ingredients until crumbly and put over the apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with whipped cream and hot fudge sauce.
